When Wheeler Army Air Force Base required a new cooling system for their military housing, their engineers researched energy efficiency. Given the U.S. Government’s campaign to reduce its energy consumption and mandates for more energy efficient design, Government Engineers turn to Smardt Chiller & CPECS (Chiller plant optimization Control) for capturing the highest efficiencies.

When cost of ownership is analyzed over a lifetime cycle and not just first cost, Smardt Chillers shine above the rest. Because the US Military must perform due diligence in analyzing the financial impacts of their budget, they decided to create an “Optimized Chiller Plant”, which would be the most energy efficient chiller plant possible.

With the demand for hot water, they also decided to include a desuperheater offering free hot water byproduct to the housing quarters
